Three people died and one was injured in the incident of domestic violence in South Gate


According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, two women were shot and killed by a male relative in Southgate and a third woman was wounded before she killed herself.

Officials said the shooting appears to be a case of domestic violence.

According to the sheriff’s department, officers from the South Gate Police Department responded to the 8400 block of San Luis Avenue early Saturday morning after a 911 caller reported a man firing a weapon at her residence.

According to the sheriff’s department, the suspect was leaving the residence when he opened fire on police, who returned fire and killed the man. The man went back inside and officers heard gunshots.

Once inside, officers found a woman in her 70s with gunshot wounds. According to the police, the woman was taken to the hospital and her condition is stable.

The two women who were killed, a 25-year-old woman and a woman in her 50s, were also shot. The man was found dead after suffering what the sheriff’s department described as a “self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

According to the Sheriff’s Department, the weapon the man used to shoot South Gate officers was found at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Department said they are investigating the incident, including the officer-involved shooting.
