DHL Global Forwarding appoints new CEO for Middle East and Africa
- DHL Global Forwarding has appointed Tobias Mayer as CEO of the Middle East and Africa region, effective 1 December 2025, replacing Amadou Diallo, who will become CEO of Aramex Group after eight years.
- A DHL veteran since 2008, Mayer brings extensive experience in finance, digital innovation and strategic growth. He previously served as CFO for the Middle East and Africa and CEO of Saludo! MEA, DHL’s digital shipping platform. He played a key role in mergers, acquisitions and expansion activities in Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Ethiopia and the UAE, and was instrumental in the launch of RailDirect, a joint venture with Etihad Rail.

He succeeds Amado Diallo, who is stepping down to join Armex after eight years as Group CEO. Tobias Meyer has experience in finance, digital innovation and strategic growth. Since joining DHL in 2008, he has held several leadership positions, most recently as CFO for the Middle East and Africa and CEO of Saludo! Middle East and Africa, DHL’s digital shipping platform.
He was also involved in leading regional M&A activities, expanding the company’s presence in key markets such as Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Ethiopia and the UAE, and developing innovative initiatives such as the Rail Direct joint venture between DHL and Etihad Rail.
