Andrew was officially stripped of his last remaining royal titles by King Charles

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has officially lost his last remaining royal titles amid controversy over his relationship with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

King Charles has ordered that his membership of the Order of the Garter, which he was appointed to in 2006, be revoked.

Last month, the 65-year-old was stripped of his HRH style and royal title. He still retains his rank as a lieutenant in the Royal Navy – but Defense Secretary John Healey has said he will review this with Buckingham Palace.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s role in the family came to an ugly end amid growing concerns about his relationship with Epstein. After the palace announced that she would lose all her royal titles, it also said she would leave her royal residence.

Following an agreement on 30 October, Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s titles were formally removed on 1 December.

“The King has ordered that the appointment of Andrew Albert Christian Edward Mountbatten-Windsor as a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, dated 23 April 2006, be revoked and his name removed from the register,” the statement read.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s coat of arms has already been transferred from St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

Both her HRH style and the title of Princess were taken by the King in early November.

Andrew’s friendship with Epstein put a lot of pressure on the royal family to act. After the palace announced that Andrew would lose all his royal titles, he announced that he would be leaving his 30-room mansion in Windsor.

He had already agreed to stop using his titles, but hoped to remain a prince and retain his sovereignty.

Damaging allegations include that he tried to smear the Metropolitan Police for a surrogate campaign against Epstein’s last accuser, Virginia Gaffry, who died earlier this year.

A posthumous memoir by Geoffrey was released this year, in which she repeated claims that she had sex with Andrews on three separate occasions as a teenager. He has strongly denied these allegations.

Emails from 2011 were also released in October showing Andrews in contact with Epstein after they allegedly ended the relationship.

Unsealed trial documents show Andrews told Epstein it would be “good for me to call him in person” months after he was released from prison for sexual assault and solicitation of prostitution of a minor.

He is now under increasing pressure from US lawmakers to answer questions about his documented friendship with Epstein. Some Democrats had already suggested that he could speak to the attorney present via video link.
